Oreck Steam Mops have maintained their history for manufacturing robust products for over 45 years, and ever since have created some excellent additional features few other brands offer.

Oreck has a long list of products that are slightly more expensive than similar models, but they perform superbly. Obviously, the hotel staff who used these products knew a great thing when they used it, and this popularity led Oreck to manufacture a model for home use.

Features

There are several features customers should seek when selecting steam cleaners – such as using ordinary tap water, and determining how hot the water is heated to produce steam. It must be lightweight and durable with a trigger directing the steam.

This Oreck Steam Mop does an amazing job sterilizing and disinfecting floors that are made of tile, linoleum, ceramic, hardwood, marble, or other types of surfaces.

This model is designed with a very unique feature which is called a “pressurized vapor chamber” that can be used to clean fixtures such as crown molding, cabinets, windows, bedding, ceiling fans, drapes, upholstery, and a variety of other articles in which the unit would actually be upside down; it does this without losing pressure or leaking. For $159, it’s a great deal.

Since this steam cleaner uses regular tap water, it is environmentally friendly because it cleans without using solvents, detergents, or chemicals that could be toxic.

The appliance is ready to begin cleaning within 30 seconds of turning it on and adding the water – and since it efficiently uses “dry” steam, the floor is dry within a few moments.

This model weighs eight pounds, and comes with two microfiber pads, which can be reused and washed and dried in normal household washers and dryers.

Another unique feature about this model is that it comes with what they call “cleaning clips” which allows normal terry cloth towels to be used in place of the microfiber pads – which is cost effective for the consumer.

Since this is a relatively new product from Oreck, there were very few reviews, and the main complaint was that it was awkward and somewhat unbalanced when used upside down.

This Oreck Steam Mop cleans and disinfects a variety of floors such as marble, ceramic, tile, upholstery, and even cleans carpets so that they look like new again.

Be aware though, this model is not particularly recommended for cleaning hardwood floors, but it is great for extracting pet stains and odors as well as removing grime and other gunk from upholstery. This model sells for $389, and does a great job of sanitizing floors and carpets using steam.

A detergent is also available that is used for those severely stained and grimy carpets and especially formulated for removing odors from pet’s accidents.

An interesting fact about this cleaner, is that when it is not being used, the wheels fold inward and the appliance only uses one square foot of space in the storage area.

Since this steam uses standard tap water, it is ecologically friendly; although detergents can be used if necessary. Included with this cleaner are five bottles of shampoo and one container of a pre-cleaner that is used for treating hard to remove stains or spots.

It comes with a variety of nozzles to allow more efficient cleaning of drapes, motor homes, or upholstery and a 25 foot cord.

There were several customer reviews about this product, and in general the appliance performed adequately; however, the consumers complained about it taking longer to go over very dirty areas a number of times before it actually cleaned it sufficiently.
